01 · Terms of use

Agreement to these terms

By using this site you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site. We may update these terms from time to time, and the version published here is the one that applies.

Who we are

Firm Six is a company incorporated in Ontario, Canada, with its office at 111 Peter Street, Suite 700, Toronto, Ontario M5V 2H1. R6 Systems is a co-venture between Firm Six and a manufacturing partner. Refresh Farms is a separate company with its own domain and its own inbox. Where a page on this site describes one of those businesses, the relevant company is the one providing that service.

The site is information, not professional advice

Nothing on this site is engineering, design, financial, tax or legal advice, and nothing on it creates a professional relationship between you and Firm Six. Engineering services are provided only under a signed agreement, by licensed professionals, for a defined scope. Performance figures, timelines and savings described here are drawn from specific projects and studies under stated assumptions, and they are not a prediction or a warranty of what any other project will achieve.

Intellectual property and project credits

The text, layout, graphics and marks on this site belong to Firm Six or its licensors. Project photography and renderings remain the property of the architects, photographers and clients credited alongside them, and are shown here with permission. You may view and share pages for your own reference, but you may not copy, republish or use any content or imagery commercially without written permission from the owner of that material.

Confidential material and the NDA request

Some technical material, including R6 Systems assemblies, specifications, detailed performance data and pricing, is released only under a non-disclosure agreement. Submitting a request through this site is not an agreement and does not entitle you to that material. Access is granted only once an NDA is executed.

Acceptable use

Do not use this site to break the law, to interfere with its operation or security, to scrape or harvest content or contact details at scale, or to submit false information, malware or anything that infringes someone else’s rights.

Third-party links

Where we link to another organisation, we do not control that site and are not responsible for its content or its privacy practices.

Disclaimer and limitation of liability

This site is provided as is. We work to keep it accurate and available but we do not warrant that it is complete, current, uninterrupted or error free. To the fullest extent the law allows, Firm Six is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, or for lost profits or lost opportunity, arising from your use of this site. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under Ontario or Canadian law.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. The courts of Ontario have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from this site.

02 · Privacy policy

Written to the ten fair information principles in Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act.

Scope and accountability

This policy covers personal information Firm Six collects through this site and through the business conversations that follow from it. Firm Six is a private-sector organisation operating in Ontario, so the federal Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act applies. Our Privacy Officer is accountable for these practices and can be reached at privacy@frm6.com or at 111 Peter Street, Suite 700, Toronto, Ontario M5V 2H1.

What we collect, and from where

We collect only what we need to answer you and to run a project:

What you send us. Your name, organisation, work email and any project details you type into a contact form or an NDA request, or send us by email.

Project correspondence. Information exchanged while we scope, price or deliver work, which may include documents you choose to share with us.

Technical information. Standard server logs and, if analytics are enabled, aggregate usage data such as IP address, browser, referring page and pages viewed.

We do not collect payment details through this site, we do not ask for sensitive personal information, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.

Why we collect it

To reply to your enquiry, to assess and respond to an NDA request, to prepare proposals and deliver services, to keep records we are required to keep, and to understand in aggregate how the site is used so we can improve it. We do not sell personal information, and we do not use it for unrelated purposes without asking you first.

Consent

Sending us a form or an email is your consent to us using that information to respond. You can withdraw consent at any time by writing to privacy@frm6.com, subject to any legal or contractual records we must retain. If we ever want to use your information for a new purpose, we will ask.

Who else sees it

Service providers who operate our email, hosting, form handling and analytics process information on our behalf under contract, and only for those purposes. Some store data outside Canada, which means it may be subject to the laws of the country where it is held. Where a project involves R6 Systems or Refresh Farms, we share only what is needed with the relevant partner. We otherwise disclose personal information only with your consent or where the law requires it.

Safeguards and retention

We protect personal information with access controls, encryption in transit, and limiting access to the people who need it. We keep it only as long as it serves the purpose it was collected for, or as long as the law requires, and then dispose of it securely. If a breach creates a real risk of significant harm, we will notify the affected individuals and the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada as required.

Cookies and analytics

This site uses only what it needs to function, plus analytics to count visits and understand which pages are useful. You can block or delete cookies in your browser; the site will still work. We do not use advertising trackers.

Your access and correction rights

You can ask what personal information we hold about you, how it has been used and to whom it has been disclosed, and you can ask us to correct it. Write to privacy@frm6.com. We will respond within thirty days, and we will tell you if we need more time or if an exception under the Act prevents us from disclosing something.

Complaints

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your personal information, write to our Privacy Officer at privacy@frm6.com. We will investigate and respond. If you are still not satisfied, you can bring a complaint to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

Changes to this policy

We will update this page when our practices change, and the date at the top will change with it.
